Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum cleaner cheap vacuum will keep your floors clean enough to decrease the frequency of hoovering manually. Choose a robot vacuum that is well-trained in navigation, can clean corners and stairs and has a large bin that will need to be emptying every so often.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. The i3+ is a great option for those who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but want to manually empty the dust bin after it has filled up.

Both robots excel at picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors and they are very good at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ does not have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or other top-rated robots we test. It can be stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces like hardwood and rug.

iRobot recommends clearing areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including getting rid of any toys or clutter it may come across. It's also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter clear so they don't become clogged with dirt. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is low it goes back to its docking station, automatically empties its debris into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning where it left off. The battery's lifespan is around an hour and a half of continuous usage. It takes about three hours to charge.

2. Roomba by iRobot

The iRobot i7+ is the Top Rated robot Vacuum model in iRobot's flagship line and comes with the most recent features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and the most important feature of all -- it has a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba I7+ is able to make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, top rated robot vacuum and you can direct your robot using the app or by voice.

In our tests the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our top rated robot vacuum choice and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surface kinds including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its best self cleaning vacuum-emptying garbage bin, which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.

We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and to move around the room, and even vacuum an area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. Once connected, we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and monitoring the performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful and has features to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of households and can fit nicely on the coffee table or the bookshelf, where you can move it around like an enchanted device.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense lithium-ion battery that produces fade-free power for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then lets cleaner air into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpet to collect large particles and fine dust. It has three different suction modes that can be adjusted to the task. It quickly switches from floor vac to handheld vacuum, and then back to floor.

The model also comes with an accessory dock that can charge to 100% in 3.5 hours and provides an easy access to two attachments and the wand clip. This is a huge improvement over older Dysons, that require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The V10's biggest drawback is its short run time. Its marketing claims that it can provide up to 60 minutes of running time are misleading as CR's tests show. This is a standard battery-powered vacuum's run time. It's enough time to clean a typical-sized home, but not enough to reach every area. (A second time generally works). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is significantly better on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have a lot of money to invest in the latest model of robot. It was able to pick up most types of debris and sizes during our testing and often went over the same area several times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front side helps it to reach into corners and along the walls' edges which is a nice touch.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and help you navigate your home. However, it isn't equipped with the capabilities for mapping of more advanced models, including our top picks, the i3+EVO and J7+ Series. This means that it may get stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't in good condition, and often runs out of battery power before making it back to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694, as it has less parts that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses and has more advanced automation abilities and can better move its own. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also comes with physical boundaries strips that can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistance. It is also more robust, has a larger motor, and is more effective on low-pile and bare floors.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's not surprising, then, that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has a cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.

The app offers a variety of options to customize your robotic cleaner. These include mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior modifications, docking frequency settings and more. It's easy to comprehend and easy to use, just as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests in our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and removed 86% of dog hair (on carpet). It did not do well in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than some of the other models we tested and could be a problem for some shoppers.

However, the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border without registering it as an incline. The ability to program a cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving advantage.
